Kate had her doctor appointment today and everything looked great. She weighed 16 lbs and is 25 inches long. The doctor said she is getting to be such a big girl and I totally agree. I cant believe she has changed so much in just four short months.
The doctor also said we could start Kate on rice cereal so that is what we did tonight. I'm not sure she knew what to think about it. Needless to say she has a lot to figure out before we get the whole eating from a spoon thing and the not spitting it all over mommy thing. Oh and not to mention the laundry will be so much more messier than before. Here are some pictures of our experience. Enjoy!

I'm ready!

Kate will be four months old on Wednesday!!! Can you believe it? She has been a very busy girl lately. She has been rolling over every chance she gets, which makes giving her a bath and getting her dressed a new adventure. She has gotten a few new toys to play with the past week. She loves her snuggle blankets which you can see in the picture. She chews and snuggles with them all day. She is also now tall enough to play in her exersaucer. She is still too timid to reach out and play with the toys but she loves to sit up and look at all of them.
I cant wait until next week when Kate goes to the doctors. I'm very curious to see how much she has grown in two months. I unofficially weighed her last week and I think she weighs around 20 lbs!!! If this is true she will have to go up to a big girl car seat. It makes me sad to think my baby is growing up and is too big for her pumpkin seat but it will be a good thing for my back because she is heavy. I told her the other day that she needed a stronger mommy! Although at this doctors appointment she will get four more vaccines. I hope she doesn't get too upset, she can be a drama baby sometimes.

Stuff stuff everywhere but none of it is mine. Who knew one little person could have so much stuff and she doesn't even like to share. I would share my toys with her, not my bones, but my toys would be OK. Not only does she have more toys than me she gets to go on vacation without me. I had to stay home and hang out with Uncle Garion. Mom said I was taking a staycation. It was nice to get away from all the screaming that Kate does now. I try and tell mom that she is screaming and needs help but she just smiles and makes Kate scream more, apparently she is happy but I don't believe it.
The worse thing even happened this week! Kate can move around now! Before you could put her somewhere and she wouldn't go anywhere but now she is on the roll. That is just one step closer to chasing me around.

If you would like to help a poor neglected wiener dog please send bones!!!

It happened!!!

KATE ROLLED OVER!!! Around 7:15 pm this evening during the rain, thunder, lighting, and hail she did it, she rolled from her back to her tummy. She has been trying so hard all day long. Yesterday, she would roll onto her side and try to roll over but she would get tired and roll back to her back. She always got stuck on her arm. But today was different. Today she would roll onto her side and try and roll over but today she wouldn't roll back to her back she would stay on her side, rest a little bit and then scream out and try some more. After trying all day she finally did it! Surprisingly she wasn't really happy about it, she didn't cry either. She just laid there like "I knew I could do it".I'm so excited for her and I'm glad that she did it when Jeff was home. Even though I'm excited I cant help but start thinking about what we have to do now that she can roll over. We are going to have to stop swaddling her at night because if she rolled over she would be stuck on her tummy. We are also going to have to start buckling her into her chair and swing and no more putting her on the couch or bed and walking away. My baby is getting so big!!!

First Vacation

Kate went on her first vacation to Gatlinburg, Tennessee with all her cousins this holiday weekend. We packed everything up on Thursday and started on our way. This was the longest trip Kate had been on and she became aggravated with her car seat after about five hours, just in time for us to get to the main road going into Gatlinburg. After our GPS, Lori, took us up the mountain on some questionable back roads we were finally at the cabin.
We had a really good time with the whole family. Kate and Jonathan had some bonding time as well.Kate seemed very interested in him. I don't think she has ever seen another baby around her age. Although, I think she enjoyed watching the girls run around and sing to her more.
One of the days we all went and played a game of mini golf. Of course Kate slept through the whole thing. We just kept Kate in her stroller and we were both able to play.
As you can see everyone had a good time.

The next day we went hiking and drove through the national park. We were very lucky and found a trail that was handicap accessible that we could take the stroller on. We also drove up to the top of one of the mountains. It was very pretty and you could see the next storm system coming in. One of the trails at the top of the mountain was closed because of aggressive bear activity. I told Jeff that if we didn't have Kate we would get some Twinkies and go looking for bears, the Twinkies just in case we saw a bear we could throw them and start running. Unfortunately, we never saw a bear. We have been to Gatlinburg a few times now and Ive never seen a bear there except for the 22 LIVE bears and they were too fat and lazy they didn't even get up. I'm starting to think there really isn't any wild bears in Gatlinburg.

Kate has been very active this past week. She is talking all the time. She learned a new "word", Ooooo, and likes to say it all the time.
"Ooooo"

She is also smiling and laughing a lot more. Her favorite thing is kisses from her daddy. Kate has been doing a lot of laying on the floor and can almost roll over from her back to her belly. She is so funny about it. She screams like she is saying "charge" and rolls on her side but always gets stuck on her arm. When she is on her tummy she doesn't try to roll over but she does scoot around.
