The Stork

Where is my stork!?! My mother says she never told me about the stork but I don't believe her!!! Either she told me that when I got married and was ready to have a baby that a stork would bring it to me or she let me watch Dumbo too many times and never told me the truth. I can remember up until around 4th grade I really thought that is how babies got here. Oh if that were only true.
I think that either my hormones are making me crazy or I've come to the realization that I'm going to have a baby. I know I wanted this and couldn't wait to get pregnant, don't get me wrong I am so excited and cant wait to hold my little boy or girl but I am scared. I am so scared! I'm the type of person that wants/needs to know exactly whats going to happen and how its going to feel. That cant happen in this situation. I can spend all my time reading books and learning about everything that will or could happen but still wont be prepared for what is going to happen. Even more scary than not knowing whats going to happen is how much its going to hurt. I have nothing to compare it to. Ive never had surgery, I have broken a bone and had stitches but I was too young to even remember. I know I will be fine and in the end I will have my baby but until then I'm going to be scared of the unknown.

11 Weeks

Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future

***WARNING I COMPLAIN A LOT DURING THIS BLOG SO IF YOU HAVE THIS IMAGE OF ME AS A HAPPY PREGNANT WIFE WHO LOVES LIFE I WOULD NOT READ THIS AND SEND THOSE HAPPY THOUGHTS MY WAY!!!***

So the medicine the doctor gave me last week was not the magical drug that I thought it would be. To tell you the truth it hasn't help very much at all. When I take it I don't feel the urge to run to the restroom when I eat but I still feel sick to my stomach and it make me even more tired than just the normal pregnant fatigue. The worst part is that the medicine only keeps the nausea away for about two hours, I can only take the medicine every four hours. The medicine is also very expensive, $650 for 30 pills, I was only given 30 pills for the month and the insurance may only pay for two refills.
I told myself when I first found out I was pregnant that there were going to be parts of this pregnancy that were going to suck and at times may make we want to give up but that I had to keep my head up and not complain about it because at the end we would have our baby. I just didn't know that it would suck so soon into the pregnancy! I was thinking about when I started to get bigger and the baby was kicking me and I couldn't sleep and then of course labor! But not morning sickness I thought this would be fine I would be sick a little bit of the day then I would be fine and could continue with my day. I wasn't ready for this all day sickness, where I can barely eat anything even when I try I get one bite in and go running for the bathroom. Now I have the motherly guilt that my baby is starving because I cant keep anything down and when I can keep something down its not the healthiest things.
I not only have motherly guilt I have wifely guilt too. Jeff has been wonderful the past month he has done all the cooking and most of the cleaning, he even went grocery shopping by himself this past trip. He is doing all of this while I lay on the couch and think of all the things that aren't getting done or how I wouldn't have done it that way. Or how I think I can smell the litter box when I'm in our upstairs bathroom, the litter box is in the basement, so I yell at Jeff to clean it even if he just cleaned it the day before. I know what you're thinking I'm a horrible wife that I have this wonderful husband that would do anything to make me happy and you're right! I think that's why you're suppose to get married then have kids. You fall in love with this person who is everything you want in a partner and you decide you want more, you want to have kids. Then the lovely wife, me : ), goes crazy from the all day sickness and the overload of hormones but by this time its too late for the husband, Jeff, you've already vowed to spend your life with this crazy person! In sickness or in health : ) But enough complaining this to shall pass right?

OK back to fun baby talk...

How far along? 11 weeks
Maternity clothes? Two weeks ago I thought I would be wearing nothing but maternity pants now but with losing 6 pounds I went from not being able to zip my pants all the way up to not only being able to zip them but button them and have plenty of room to breath.
Stretch marks? Nope and I hope it stays that way!
Sleep: I'm getting lots of this. However the past few days Ive had to go to the bathroom every half hour which makes it hard to stay a sleep! I'm not sure if the little lime is leaning on my bladder or what but something is going on there.
Best moment this week: Nothing yet but its only Monday.
Movement: Nope but only a few more weeks hopefully. They said around week 14-16.
Food cravings: I wish
Gender: Only 9 more weeks until we find out!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Nothing really
What I am looking forward to: That wonderful day when I wake up and don't have morning sickness ever again!!!

10 weeks

We had a doctors appointment this morning and everything is looking good. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again it was 164 beats per minute, which is wonderful. I did however lose 6 pounds since my last appointment about a month ago, that's what happens when you have morning sickness all day long! So they finally put me on anti nausea medication, Zofran, http://www.drugs.com/zofran.html. I took it around noon today and I felt fine for about an hour but I'm starting to feel a little sick again but nothing compared to how I usually am so maybe its working! I did read a little about it and its kinda made me uneasy. It's a new drug and it's never been tested on women who are pregnant only pregnant animals so they dont know if it effects the devolpment of the fetus or not. I think I will only use it when I cant keep anything down and have tried everything else.
According to the what to expect with your expecting book, the website I've been getting the weekly updates from is not working so no cute picture this week : (, the baby is the size of a prune which is about 1 1/2 inches long. Bones and cartilage are forming and the baby's elbows are beginning to work. The stomach is starting to produce digestive juices and the kidneys are producing larger quantities of urine. Every time i think about this it kinda grosses me out. Someone is peeing inside me, YUCK!!! Also this week if the baby is a boy his testes are producing testosterone!

9 weeks

Your baby has officially graduated from a embryo to fetus. This week tiny muscles are starting to form. This will allow your fetus to move his or her arms and legs, though it'll be at least another month before you'll be able to feel those little punches and kicks. The baby's heartbeat can now be heard via a Doppler device at your practitioner's office.

Nothing is really new this week. I still have morning sickness that last all day. At the beginning of last week I had two days in a row that I felt fine and I got a little hopeful that I was over the hump, but I haven't had a good day since and that was last Tuesday. My mom bought me a book that contains old wives' tales, traditions, poems, and stories; it is very interesting. Out of a desperate attempt to solve my morning sickness, I read that section again hoping it had some magic cure, it didn't. Anyways it said that in Korea, where my grandma is from, that women welcome morning sickness and call it the enjoyable sickness. Ha! My inner Korean laughed so hard she fell off the couch! Enjoyable is not how i would describe this.
There are some things I'm looking forward to. I have a doctors appointment next Tuesday and I'll get to hear the heartbeat again : ) Also it is exciting to think that in four weeks I'll be able to feel the baby move! And in eleven more weeks we will know the sex of the baby and we can start preparing for our little olive to arrive.

I don't know if the baby bump is any bigger than the last picture but I sure feel like it. I told Jeff the other day that now when I look down my belly sticks out more than my boobies (Jeff's editing! ha!) for the first time forever. I also can't wear any of my pants without the bellaband. I already feel uncomfortable with my new self and its only the beginning.

8 Weeks

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you
can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

This week has been a little rough. Ive had morning sickness everyday, excluding yesterday, from the time I got out of bed until I went to sleep that night and even a couple nights I had to run to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I
wouldn't mind it so much if it was only in the mornings, why do they call it morning sickness in the first place!?! But to have it all day, every day is very discouraging! I just hope it eases up soon.
