16 Weeks

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

How far along? A little over 16 weeks
Maternity clothes? Only pants. Maternity shirts are still way too big its like wearing a tent.
Stretch marks? Nope and I hope it stays that way!
Sleep: Great as long as I have a pillow between my legs.
Best moment this week: Being able to feel the baby move : )
Movement: Yep started on Sunday morning.
Food cravings: Not really. I wish I had cravings it would make eating easier.
Gender: Only a few more weeks. I cant wait until September 15th!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Waking up knowing I'm not going to be sick that day. But at least the morning sickness isn't everyday anymore.
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender. I cant wait to start on the nursery.

Ive finally felt the baby move on Sunday. Jeff and I went camping last weekend and I had just came back from one of my many trips to the bathroom and laid back down. Then there it was a little push in my abdomen. At first I just blew it off as another weird pregnancy thing. But there it was again, and again. It didn't hurt it was just a pushing like something poking me from the inside, or should I say someone. Right away I woke up Jeff to share the exciting news, our baby was moving! Since then Ive felt the baby at least once day but I only notice it when I'm sitting still. I think the baby might be able to hear Bella's heart beat or maybe its just the change in pressure but when Bella lays her head on my belly the baby always seems to start kicking. Either the baby already likes Bella or he/she is saying "Hey you! Get off me and my mommy!". I cant wait until you can feel the baby's kicks from the outside, it will be funny to see how Bella reacts.

14 or 15 Weeks?

So the doctors always measured me a week behind my due date so I was going by what they said thinking that my due date might be moved. But according to my due date, February 9th, I'm at 15th week. Anyways, at our appointment yesterday the doctor said that everything seemed to be caught up. So I'm going with the due date that means I'm 15th weeks!

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now out measures the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, through you probably still cant feel the movements.

Nothing has really changed. I'm still sick most of the time and lately I haven't even had a good day. I never thought it could happen but the vomiting has even gotten worse. I get sick at least once a day and at times it can be violent and exhausting. I'm just so ready to start feeling better!
Anyways, to the fun stuff. We had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything looked good. The baby's heart rate was 156 which is good. I asked why it would have gone down so much since last visit and she said that the baby was probably just sleeping. Seeing that our appointment was at 9am Im hoping that this is a sign that the baby likes to sleep in as much as mommy and that this habit continues. Hey a girl can dream cant she! Also, even though Ive been so sick Ive gained a pound since the last appointment. This could be because for two days before the appointment I was starving to death! It was horriable, I would eat something and not even twenty minutes later I was starving again but yet I couldnt keep anything down. Thankfully that little episode has ended.
And for the biggest news!!! Our big ultrasound is scheduled for September 15th! Hopefully baby Sagel will be so nice as to let us see if its a boy or girl! I think mommy has earned that. Im so excited. I cant wait to know what our little baby is then we can start preparing for its arrival. We can finally start thinking about names seriously, its been really hard to think about names when we didnt know the gender. And we can finally start working on the nursery : ) Only a couple more weeks!

13 Weeks

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

"You know that you're not out of the woods yet, but at least it feels good to be able to catch your breath today." I think my horoscope explains how things have been going lately. Last week I did have more good days than bad days but I'm still having those bad days. I hit my first pregnancy milestone this weekend, I brought my first pair of maternity pants! I have to say they are really comfortable. I have been having a lot of stretching and sharp pains in my abdomen the past week, the doctor calls them "growing pains". Most of the time they are just annoying but some times I cant help but stop and grab my side.

12 Weeks

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical developmental stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

The past couple of days Ive felt really good and thought maybe this could be the end of the all day sickness. But around 9pm last night I started to feel sick again and haven't been able to keep anything down since then. I feel a little discouraged because I got my hopes up that the all day sickness was over and I could finally start enjoying being pregnant. Hopefully that day will come sooner than later.
