Oh My Gosh Pants

When I was little my favorite pair of pants were my "Oh My Gosh" pants. They were actually OshKosh B'gosh overalls and I apparently wore them all the time. Now thanks to her GG, Kate has her pair of "Oh My Gosh" pants. They actually look exactly like the pair that I had. I guess OshKosh styles havent changed in 20 years!

3 Months Old

Kate turned 3 months old on Sunday. I cant believe how fast she growing up already. She is wearing only 3-6 month clothes now and getting 5-6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours. She is also sleeping through the night most of the time. Our streak is six nights in a row. It was wonderful!
We have had a busy couple of weeks. My mom came down to visit for a few days and we went to the zoo for mother's day. Of course Kate slept through the whole thing. The only thing she got to see were the giraffes and I don't think she really knew what to think of them, she was just wide eyed and smiling. I cant wait until she is old enough that she gets excited to see the animals.
Kate had a good visit with her GG but just as they started to become good buds my mom had to leave. Kate looks forward to seeing her GG very soon. She may actually be spending a week with my mom in July. Jeff is going to Las Vegas for work and I would love to go with him and have a mini vacation but I don't know if I can go a whole week without my miss Kate.
We also got a visit from my dad and Sally on Friday. Kate had a very nice conversation with my dad. It was so cute she just sat and talked with him for quiet some time and she seemed so serious about it. This was the first time Sally has seen Kate. She seemed to like Sally right away as long as she didn't take Kate away from her shows. Kate is so funny about the TV. We have been trying to keep her from watching TV but sometimes we are the only thing standing between her and happiness. Even if she is facing the opposite direction she will turn her head or arch her back so she can see. Needless to say we have been watching a lot of HGTV, its baby safe and entertaining for mom and dad. I'm thinking this may inspire a future career.
Kate also went to her first wedding this past weekend. Jeff's cousin got married and it was a beautiful wedding but I'm not sure if Kate liked it or not. During the ceremony she had to be quiet, she decided that no one tells her what to do so she was talking and when no one talked back she started to cry. Then the reception was a little too much for her. There was too many people to look at and the music was a little loud for her liking. However, she did enjoy dancing with her daddy.Kate has also discovered her feet. She just loves to look at them and kick them. But she hates having shoes on! She will do everything she can to kick them off and when she does finally get them off she is so proud. She has also been more aware of her hands and they always seem to be her mouth. She still has not figured out that if she puts just one or two fingers in her mouth she would be able to suck on them so she tries to put her whole fist or both fists in her mouth. Most of the time she gets frustrated and cries. Today I had to put a bib on her because she was drooling so much that she shirt was all wet. I have a feeling that teeth maybe in her near future. I'm not really looking forward to this because it will take my happy baby and make her cranky. She really is a happy baby. It is so much fun to go in and get her up in the morning because she has the biggest smiles and just laughs and talks to you. It's my favorite part of the day, who knew I could be a morning person.
After nearly three and a half years at the health plex, next Tuesday will be my last day. It just wasn't working out anymore because Jeff had to leave work early to watch Kate so I can go to work. If he just worked an extra hour he would make as much as I do in four hours. I will miss my kids at the plex, some of them have been coming since they were 6 weeks old and the others Ive known them since before they started school. Its weird to think that Ive known them that long. But I love being a stay at home mom and wouldnt trade that for anything. If I do decide to go back to work I will defiantly find something that I can use my degree. Part of me hates that I spent so much time and hard work on something that I havent got to use. But its nice to know its there if and when I need it.

Long Time No See

So its been awhile since Ive been able to update the blog, I guess my mommy duties have caught up with me. A lot has been going on lately. Two weekends ago Kate went to her first Reds game. Jay, Jeff's brother, got all the tickets for his company's suite and decided to share them with us, Jim, Gina, and the girls. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon with the family. I think Kate really enjoyed it. She loved that there were lots of new things to look at.
Kate has official out grown all her 0-3 month clothes. The other day I put a pair of pants on her and they were more like capris than pants. I hope it stays warm because all her 3-6 month clothes are summer clothes but it looks like its suppose to get cooler again. She will just have to hang out in a sleeper I guess. It's hard to believe that Kate will be three months old next week. Before we know it she will be running around with me right behind her cleaning up the path of destruction.
Apparently, Kate is a great escape artist. The other night we didn't go to bed until 4 am because she kept coming unswaddled and then waking herself up. That day Jeff went out and bought what I like to call the "baby straight jacket".
Stunt Baby

The baby straight jacket worked for about 36 hours then my baby Houdini figured out how to get out. I went in this morning and she had managed to get both arms out and a leg. Of course she was very happy to see me and show me her accomplishment. I was not so happy about the escape, hopefully she wont be able to do it again.
Kate has also discover the TV and all the fun things she can watch. Because of this Jeff and I have been more aware of what we are watching and what we don't want Kate to see. I have also discovered that the TV makes tummy time a lot easier. Before tummy time would only last 5 or so minutes now she will go for 20 or more minutes as long as she has something to watch. I'm just not as amusing as I was before so Ive been replaced by baby Einstein. Kate loves the one where they sing Old MacDonald and seeing all the animals. Bella on the other hand is very insulted that Old MacDonald didn't have a dog on his farm.
My mom will be coming down to visit this weekend. Kate cant wait to spend some time with her GG and we might even go to the zoo this weekend. I think Kate will like to see all the animals even if she doesn't know what they are, its something new to see.
