Look Who's Two

Can you believe that Kate is two? I know I say it all the time but time flies by once you have a child. I love seeing her grow up I just wish it didn't happen so quickly. Anyways, I think Kate had a great birthday and party. Her birthday was last Thursday, she woke up to balloons and presents what a great way to wake up! We got her some bubbles and a water table, it will be so much fun this summer. After breakfast we headed to the children's museum. This was the first time Kate had ever been there and she loved it, she didn't want to leave even after two and half hours of playing.

On Saturday we had Kate's party. I think she had a great party and had so many kids to play with, which she loves. We also loved that all of my family was able to make it to the party. I love having time to spend with my family even if it's only for a short time. The theme of the party was Sesame Street, which WAS Kate's favorite. I say was because about a week after I decided the theme would be Sesame Street she stopped wanting to watch it. Now all she wants to watch is Winnie the Pooh, that will be a whole other post. Anyways, I made all the decorations for the party with my new Cricut, it was so much fun I cant wait for the next party : )

OK, now for some stats on our little girl. We went to the doctor last Wednesday these are the stats they came up with. Her weight was 31 lbs that puts her at the 75th percentile for her age. I'm starting to feel the effects of carrying her up and down the stairs. We may have to put her in a toddler bed in a couple of months just because I wont be able to lift her into her crib. She was 35 1/2 inches tall that the 99th percentile for her age. I'm not sure about this number because they had to measure her three times to get a good measurement, I think she is taller. The first measurement they got she was actually shorter than her last appointment. This appointment was kind of exciting because for the first time in Kate's life she didn't have to get any shots. I think once we were done she was like "that's it?" She wont have to get any shots, other than a flu shot, until she is five.

A New Year

Hi everyone! Its been way too long since a blogged, AGAIN! I was really bad about blogging last year. Looking back I can pinpoint it to when Kate started walking. But this year will be different, one of my resolutions this year is to blog more because I feel like i missed so many opportunities to record the little things I wont remember later. I don't know if you do this but I love to go back and read the blogs from when Kate was a baby and remember all the little things she would do. I love that I can do that and want to remember all the little things.

I haven't blogged since October so Ill give you a quick version of our lives to get you caught up. Kate was a cowgirl for Halloween. Wasn't she cute with her pink cowgirl boots.

She actually went trick or treating twice this year, once at my grandparent's campground and on Halloween. She loved trick or treating, Jeff even took her all the way around the block. She had so much candy, next year I think we might donate some of it because we threw most of it away.

In the beginning of November Jeff and I went on a cruise with Jeff's family, adults only no kids. Kate stayed with my Grandparents, I think they had as much fun as we did on our vacation. After our cruise Jeff and I traveled to Key West. It was so nice to spend a couple of day there, it is a beautiful place. It was also such a beautiful peaceful drive to the keys.

We got back the week of Thanksgiving and it has seem to be fast forward ever since. St. Nick visited us on December 6th. He brought Kate Elmo slippers and a coloring book. After Christmas parties and seeing Santa a few times it was Christmas Day.
Kate had such a good Christmas and received so many great presents. Thanks everyone!
She still doesn't understand what Christmas is but she knows who Santa is and that there are presents. Even now she asks about Santa and where he went. I wonder if she will still be talking about him in July? We rang in the new year with good friends. Kate didn't stay up until midnight mostly because I thought it was time for her to go to bed. I think she could of though, she has become quit the night owl.

This year has been pretty quite so far. We all have a little cold, just mostly stuffy/runny noses. We did get out over the weekend to work in the yard. The weather here has been so nice for January. Jeff, with Kate's help, racked the leaves. With all the traveling this fall he never got a chance to pick them up.

Kate has been such a good helper lately. Her new job everyday is to feed Bella. She is getting good at scooping the food out and putting in the bowl. As you can imagine at first Bella was eating off the floor more than out of her bowl. The only problem that we are having is that Kate thinks she should feed Bella multiple times a day. This isnt a problem for Bella though. Kate even helped me fold laundry today. She would pull out a shirt fluff it out then crumble it up into a ball and put it in the pile. I hope she thinks I do a better job at folding than that.
